Garage Door Opener

Openers die quietly, a door that reverses for no reason, a remote that stopped working, a motor that hums and does not move. Some of those are repairs and some are replacements.
Repair or replace
Sensors knocked out of alignment, worn gears, and dead remotes are repair calls. A motor older than about ten years, a unit that predates safety sensors entirely, or a chain opener that was loud when it was new are replacement conversations. Belt drives are the quiet upgrade most houses take.
What to say in the request
The make and model if you can see it, what the door does when the button goes, and whether the problem came on slowly or all at once.
